The monsoons are coming

This morning was different from the other ones because today the eternal sunny sun was not so punctual like the previous mornings. This morning rained. The first rain since I am in India. Now don’t imagine it was a real rain, far away of this, it just wet the cement a little bit.

It announce the monsoon season. This was the first rain, the next one will be in 2 weeks and after that the monsoon season will start. It will be veeery interesting. I never see monsoons or rain season in my life. In Romania we don’t have this. It rains all the year. Here, it will rain continuous for 3 months. Even I understood the monsoons in India are one of the worse, because it floods and it is very dirty, a lot of insects and illnesses. This is the period then the malaria appears, and the probability of doing it is extremely high.

I was talking with my roommate from Australia, that is an Indian and who experience also leaving in Europe, and she said that our cold fever is the same or even worse than the malaria fever. Interesting! Because for us, when we hear about malaria is something very, extremely bad, but when you are here, it is something absolutely normal, and the doctors are very well prepared and they have the necessary medicine to heal. Everybody is doing malaria here, at least one time in life. Are the things so bad or we are just scared of unknown?

In the middle of July it will be the worse period: you cannot go out for a couple of days, you cannot dry properly your cloths, the schools are closed, no rickshaws on the street…

This is what they call experience India. The real India. This will be without doubt the experience of my life: experience monsoons for the first time, and in India!

Let see if the reality is so bad as they paint it.
