Thailand, how is it?

Thailand = wonderful beaches, the best places for diving and snorkeling, the best parties, liberty, the dream holidays on the seaside.

Therefore every European at least dreams with Thailand.

After having a closer look, Thailand is disappointing, it may be because the expectations are very high too. It’s just that Thailand is full of Americans, people (especially young ladies) who came alone for a reason, lots of prostitutes and gays.

I have to be honest and recognize that, all in all, Thailand impressed me for its architecture(absolutely gorgeous), interesting history, strong and smart ancestors and I have to accept it, beautiful beaches as well.

Visiting the imposing Grand Palace from Bangkok, incredible beautiful architecture!

If you want a nice holiday on the seaside, water sports, and gorgeous places for diving and snorkeling, without extreme crazy parties, drugs, women/men available everywhere, I recommend you Vietnam. There you can get all this an even more. It sounds like those boring commercials which makes us change the channel every time we hear them.

Malaysia, simple amazing!

Malaysia is definitely one of the countries I will come back. There are so many things to see, to do! It’s just amazing! I think I loved it so much because the life standard is almost the same as in my country:

  • the currency conversion rate is the same: 1 Romanian lei = 0.983261626 Malaysian ringgits
  • the prices are the same
  • the prices in tourist places are as expensive as in the tourist places from Romania
  • there are almost no touts – the things are in place, but not perfect.

In 5 days I just got the chance to be only in Kuala Lumpur and Taman Negara which were simple amazing! In Kuala Lumpur it took me a while to understand how the roads are meandering, but after nobody could stop me! In 2 days I’ve been visiting the entire city on food: Kuala Lumpur Tower, Petronas Tơers, National Mosque, old railway station, parks, museums, China Town, Little India. Was just wonderful! I forgot to walk in India, but starting with Malaysia I learnt again.

Taman Negara, the oldest jungle in the world, is the most beautiful forest I ever seen! It’s incredible massive! It’s huge! It’s impressive! It’s lovely!

I got into Taman Negara National Park from Kuala Tahan and because my budget just too tide I went in the jungle by myself, of course I asked The Wildlife department before. So, I went with the map given by them to look for the aboriginal people settlement. It took me a while to discover the path, more because it was not on the map, but… after more than an hour of tracking in the forest… what is that?

Is like a Tarzan!

And like in the movies, I start following him and I discovered the village!!! I was effectively staring at the habitants, at their hair, “cloths”, “houses” and suddenly:

“Hi! May I help you?”

Me: Aaa?! Aa.. Oh uh.. aa?! Do you speak English?!

The man: “Yes.”

Me: aa, uh, but u live here… do you go to school?

The man: No never! We never leave the village, only for hunting.

Me: Ok… but from where do you get these cloths, [he was wearing cloths as I do]

The man: From the market.

Me: And from where you get the money to buy the cloths?

The man: From the tourists.

Oh! So, you are a guide! So you make money showing to tourist how your people live. This is crazy! It sounds like a good business…

I don’t want to comment too much on this, I know that Malaysian government tried to offer them proper conditions for living, but they seems to love the jungle and live from hunting and in the meanwhile, I have to recognize was interesting to see the original specie of people who were living on these lands.

From there, lucky as usual, I met a group of people, so I went with them to climb a very narrow cave and coming back by boat. I did lot of things in one day ưithout spending any money. This is great!

Taman Negara is certainly one of the most beautiful places in the world! If you visit Malaysia, you should not miss it.
